I am a product designer by trade, and an enthusiastic devourer of knowledge by inclination. I enjoy unraveling complex problems and expressing intricate concepts in elegant ways.
Currently based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, I am a transplant from San Francisco, CA. I spent my childhood in northern Illinois in the middle of nowhere (if you somehow know where Spring Grove is—hello, fellow child of the corn!) I lived in Tokyo, Japan for a few years as a child, and will happily sing you the lost kitten song I learned at school if you ask me to.
I continue to be an ardent world traveler when time and finances allow, as well as a haphazard student of various languages, including Dutch, Spanish, Japanese, Maori, German, Italian, and Korean. (I am in no way fluent or even competent in any of these languages, but I find grammar and linguistics fascinating in general.)
I spend most of my free time reading (usually fantasy novels), knitting, baking, or snuggling with my corgi, Harpo (named for the Marx Brother). I love capybaras, tiki drinks, the color green, the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland, and board games.
